MANILA, Philippines - Living up to their fun-filled annual event, Bonifacio Global City launches its event dubbed “BGC Passionfest 2013.”

It’s a three-day celebration filled with different fun activities that focus on culture, art, fitness, lifestyle and history as they celebrate the 150th birthday of one of the greatest heroes in the Philippine history, Andres Bonifacio.

In lieu of Bonifacio’s 150th birthday, their theme for this event is “modern fiesta,” which will be kicked off on Nov. 29 by Gantipala Theater Foundation’s presentation of “Katipunan (Mga Anak ng Bayan) at the Bonifacio High Street Central Amphitheater.

This day would be a perfect time to go shopping as well, as some stores in Bonifacio High Street will be participating in the “Supremo Sale.”

Since Nov. 30 is Bonifacio Day, the activities for this day will be more about Philippine history. But since we’re in the modern days, history will be relieved in the modern way.

For instance is the “Science in the Plaza,” which happens at The Mind Museum from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Let your kids be amazed on different science mysteries, as modern-day katipuneros and katipuneras guide them around the venue.

As the kids enjoy the science exhibit, parents, teenagers and their peers could join the “TakBonifacio” featuring Katipuneros versus Guardia Sibil, which will be staged at Bonifacio High Street by 3:00 p.m. But if you think this is another ordinary marathon, you’re wrong.

This will be an “Amazing Race” and “Zombie Run” combined. The participants, who are wearing modern Filipiniana by the way, is to complete a history related challenge while at the same time protecting their white flags from those who are designated to steal it away from them.

The participants who complete the challenges first and are able to keep their white flag will be taking home a prize.

By the evening, everyone could jam with different OPM bans in the “Rock Supremo,” which is an activity with the participation of Rock Ed. This will showcase the songs composed by different OPM bands that are inspired from the life of Andres Bonifacio.

Aside from these three major events, people could enjoy the different food booths, game booths, and art activities that day. Pinoy entrepreneurs will also be there as Pinoy Eats World organizes “Bisita Kusina,” which features Philippines’ local products.

Of course on the third day, Dec. 1, another set of fun activities await the crowd.

This is starting off with the “Parada de Kalesa,” a parade of dressed-up kalesas that will tour around BGC.

After feasting our eyes with the colorful designs of kalesas, people could enjoy the performances of the country’s most prestigious performing groups in “Kislap at Kutitap.”

Tanghalang Pilipino will perform “Sandosenang Sapatos” by 6:00 p.m, while the Philippine Madrigal Singers and Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra will serenade the crowd by 7:30 p.m.

The day will also feature the launch of annual competition “Symphony of Lights,” wherein the different construction groups and buildings in GC will compete for the best Christmas decoration.

The different activities for the “BGC Passionfest 2013” will be enjoyed through availing the BoniFiesta Passport. This could be availed by purchasing Php 1,500 pesos worth of single receipt purchase from any retail stores or restaurants in Bonifacio High Street, One Parkade, Two Parkade, Bonifacio Stopover, Crossroads, and The Fort Entertainment Complex from November 29 to December 1, 2013 only.

This passport will entitle you to different freebies and participate in the various art activities.

So why not kick off the Christmas month by treating your family and yourself, and at the same time bring along your peers at the “BGC Passionfest 2013” from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
