Eight entries lead LGBA derby

MANILA, Philippines - Eight of 102 participants emerged co-leaders after two rounds of the Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association (LGBA) 7-cock derby at the Pasay Cockpit last week.

The frontrunners, with three wins each, shared the P200,000 prize for the day.

They include Jun Lovendino, Vladimir Palis, Dennis Sta. Maria, Borgy Zoleta, J. Medalla/Ronald Baliao, Philip Chiongbian, Mamad Villarubio and Kenneth Liao.

Meanwhile, more than 50 qualifiers will dispute the crown on Friday.

LGBA president Nick Crisostomo said derby action resumes on March 13 and 24 (7-bullstag derby, second leg) and April 7 (Northerners vs Southerners 5-bullstag derby, third leg).

The LGBA Cocker of the Year winner will receive P500,000 from Sagupaan Complexor 3000.
