BPI offers free membership at Landers

OOH LA LAI - Lai S. Reyes - The Philippine Star

If you’re a Landers member and a bargain-hunter like me, you know by now that it really gets crazy during the Super Crazy Sale at Landers, the fastest-growing membership shopping in the country today. Lines to the check-out counter reach crazy lengths and sale items get sold out fast!

At the recent Super Crazy Sale held from Oct. 11 to 15, shoppers from all over the metro flocked to Landers branches in Otis and Balintawak as early as 6 a.m. to get first dibs on the buy-one, get-one promos, 50-percent discounts and huge price offs on health and beauty products, home items, snacks, frozen goods and organic selections, and the surPrice of the day — Paper Mate pack of 10 pens for only P1.

“It’s a different story if you’re a BPI Credit Cardholder,” said Stephanie Faye “Shine” Celorico, retail merchant partnership head, BPI Credit Cards. “During the recent Landers Super Crazy Sale held from Oct. 11 to 15, BPI Credit Cardholders enjoyed a three-hour exclusive shopping experience on the first day of the sale.”

BPI recently partnered with Landers Superstore, giving BPI Cardholders an early Christmas gift of exclusive deals for an amazing shopping experience at Landers.

“Landers Superstore opens at 9 a.m., but for BPI Cardholders, we opened the doors at 6 a.m. because they showed up as early as 4:30 a.m. What was originally a two-hour exclusive shopping experience for them stretched to three!” enthused Pinky Angodung, marketing director, Landers.

According to Shine, the Landers and BPI partnership was a request from their clients, specifically their Cebu-based cardholders.

“Landers is quite big in Manila, but more so in Cebu. So we approached Landers for a possible tie-up and they agreed. We’re actually the first bank to partner with them,” explained Shine.

Aside from the exclusive shopping experience during Super Crazy Sales, BPI Cardholders were entitled to a free Landers Membership Card with a minimum single-receipt purchase worth P3,000 using their BPI Credit Cards. Promo ran from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31.

Shoppers were allowed to shop at Landers even if they didn’t have a membership card yet for as long as they have their BPI Credit Cards with them. Once they reached the P3,000 purchase limit, they could apply and get their membership cards right away. Cardholders who availed of this promo have until Dec. 30 to redeem their memberhsip cards, which are valid for one year from date of issue.

Landers Premium Membership Card is priced at P800 for the primary cardholder and P400 for the supplementary.

“BPI Cardholders used their BPI Credit Cards to pay for their purchases and the memberhsip fee was waived off. So, yes, it’s possible to save even when you shop!” said Shine.

Shoppers couldn’t get enough of a wide assortment of imported goods from the US, Canada, and Australia, and high-quality local and exclusive brands.

“Some were even surprised that we offer tingi items. We give consideration to small families who don’t need to always buy in bulk. At Landers, you’ll get your money’s worth,” enthused Pinky.

At Landers Superstore, you can find brands and products not found in any other retail outlets or groceries such as unique Oreo flavors, Nutella tubs, energy chews, Badia Spices, Mercer’s Wine Ice Cream, Double Rainbow Gourmet Ice Cream, even dry shampoos.

Paying for their purchases was also a breeze as there was a special lane exclusively for BPI Cardholders.

“We want to give our cardholders the experience of having ‘firsts.’ And we want Landers to be one of the perks of being a BPI Cardholder.”
