Jimmy Gil is a new dad at 70!

Veteran broadcast journalist Jimmy Gil of DzBB proves that there’s really no expiration date on when men can father a child.

At 70, Jimmy is doting dad to a healthy nine-month-old baby girl Anna Cristina with his second wife, lawyer Anna Katrina Sy-Gil.

“It was totally unexpected,” admits Jimmy who already has five grown-up children from his first marriage.

“All of them are married. And I’m a grandfather already,” he says.

When his first wife passed away and he remarried, both Jimmy and Katrina never discussed the possibility of having kids.

“I didn’t even dream about it. So when my wife told me that she was pregnant, I was more apprehensive than surprised for the simple reason that I just don’t know how to be a dad again,” Jimmy admits. “I thought I was already done changing diapers.”

Jimmy met Katrina at GMA Network where she and her classmates interviewed media personalities for their school project.

A few years later, they crossed paths again in San Beda where Katrina attended law school.

“I was there for an event. We started communicating again, we got into a relationship, which years later led to our marriage,” he relates.

After seven years, their union was blessed with baby Cristina. “It’s unexpected but it’s a welcome surprise. Anna Cristina is a welcome surprise. Half of it is divine intervention, the other half is Enduranz Capsule for Men,” enthuses the Jimmy Gil, Live! host.
