Staying positive keeps one healthy

FROM THE HEART - Gina Lopez - The Philippine Star

Health and wellness is such an evolving sector. Every week, I learn more as I explore ways to be healthy and talk to people who are in a similar path. It gives me great fulfilment to share what I know and see people benefit.

My convictions:

First: Staying positive keeps one healthy. Negative emotions are negative energy streams that are heavy on the nerves. To this end, having meditation in one’s schedule is healthy for one’s well-being. By meditating, I don’t mean praying. That can be mental. I mean letting go of mental activity and moving to a place of peace and nurturance. Doing meditative things like walking in the forest, walking barefoot on the grass or even just lying down and feeling the early morning sun on one’s face, and not thinking. Worrying depletes one’s energy. Look at almost all the presidents. They age! One has to balance one’s duties in the world with activities that allow one to let go and feel the divine forces that are there to nurture us.

I meditate an hour and a half every morning. It’s a non-negotiable part of my daily life. The timing changes according to circumstance but starting the day connecting to higher realms of consciousness is critical not only to one’s well-being, but also for functioning well.

Second: The preventive approach is preferable. To this end, a healthy lifestyle is the best option — eating the right food, exercising, sleeping, and meditating. It’s the rhythm in one’s daily life that does not allow the accumulation of toxicity. I keep adding things as I see fit. Three years ago, I started oil pulling and drinking virgin coconut oil (VCO). This year, I have added drinking structured water as part of my routine. I have a gadget that restructures water. See this link: http://www.zeropointhealthstore.com/zero-point-red-laser-pointer. I bring it around with me wherever I go.  I try to drink three liters daily, the bulk of which is drank on an empty stomach in the morning. It’s amazing what it does to my elimination system!

I also bring around a laser that restructures the food and energizes it. See this link: http://www.zeropointhealthstore.com/zero-point-red-laser-pointer. It’s like a first-aid kit of sorts because it can address pain and muscle soreness. The other day, a friend didn’t sleep well so we applied the laser to her neck and the stiffness went away. It’s pretty amazing! I was able to get another one that even has angelic frequencies. It’s a bit more costly, but I really like it.

The other aspect, which I have added this year, is a commitment to protect myself from EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies) as much as possible. I have come across these alpha spins that create an energy field in the room where one is. I have let people try my demo unit and invariably the result is deeper sleep. It is particularly important if one is exposed to computers pervasively. See this link: http://www.jmoceanavenue.com/AlphaSpin.aspx.  I bring it around with me wherever I go because it helps me sleep better.

Third: With regard to diet, eating fresh and organic is always the better option. Taste should never be more important than one’s health. For me, if I know that it’s not healthy, I won’t enjoy the food.

Fourth: The non-chemical approach is the better one. What is needed is the information on what is out there to try. It is to this end that I hold health and wellness talks.

I am inviting you to one on May 7, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Luna Gardens in Rockwell. I would like to share our new products that we have developed. Please reserve because space is limited. Contact Anna Dolendo at 219-5123, 09778514366 or 09154650759 or email gstuffcorporate@gmail.com.

For example, ice cream. I love ice cream, but my food intolerance test said that I should not take any dairy. There are many who are lactose intolerant. So, I am so pleased to announce our latest offering: coconut milk ice cream! With no sugar. We will soon be getting the stevia from farms which help the farmers in Mindoro. It’s so exciting. For now, what we are using is coconut sugar. Our initial offerings are chocolate mint, vanilla mango, and strawberry. During the taste session, the ice cream rated a 10!
Yes! It’s super-duper yummy!

We had an award-winning Filipino chef from Australia with us for three weeks and he helped us develop products out of the farmers’ produce. We will share with you excellent-tasting coconut vinegar. I am excited about this because this means that the coconut farmer will be eating more from every coconut. He also came up with tasty desserts from coconut flour.

Last March, I attended a Natural Food Convention in Anaheim Los Angeles, probably the biggest in the world.  The whole city shut down. The last time, it took me an hour to get a cab because there were so many people standing in line. This time, my good friend Joannie Feliciano was driving me around so I didn’t have that problem. Hotels are booked months in advance. Restaurants benefit. I would very much like to do something like that in the Philippines. It’s a good way to earn — by providing people alternatives for a higher quality of life, by connecting farmers and fishermen to the market, by connecting to the world market.

These are some of the products I liked at Anaheim:

Miso. Miso is the best protein, so I was told by an alternative doctor. So, when I found this organic miso with greens — chemical free — and great energy, I was elated. It was so good that during my retreat, I had it every day!

Exercise balls. For me, an exercise ball has a psychological effect. I carry it around with me even in the car. It does not only make my hands strong, it also has an effect on my brain. The company (Sprint) also has bands which are portable and can exercise every part of the body.

Mascara for the hair. I ordered mascara for the hair — chemical free. I need to have my hair dyed every month. This mascara is not only practical, it’s chemical free!

Probiotics. The label in the stand says it’s the best probiotic in the world! The sachet boasts one trillion good bacteria! You only have to take it once a week.

Belgian chocolate. I am getting great Belgian chocolates which taste so good and have no chemicals.

I ordered a whole lot of other goodies — plus the ones we are developing, so you are all in for a healthy treat.
