MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court will hold oral arguments on the four petitions against the extension of martial law in Mindanao.

On Dec. 13, 2017, the majority of members of Congress voted in favor of extending the declaration for another year during a joint session.

The vote follows the request of President Rodrigo Duterte to extend the declaration to "ensure total eradication of DAESH-Inspired Da’awatul islamiyah Waliyatui Masriq, other like-minded Local/Foreign Terrorist Groups and Armed Lawless Groups, and the communist terrorists and their coddlers, supporters, and financiers."

Tune in to the live audio streaming of the third day of the oral arguments scheduled at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018.
