UP grads dominate CPA board, UST alumnus emerges as topnotcher

MANILA, Philippines — Graduates of the University of the Philippines Diliman dominated the October 2017 Certified Public Accountant licensure exam, registering a 100 percent passing rate.
The Professional Regulation Commission released the official results online on Thursday, 10 working days after the last day of the board examination.
Out of 14,816 examinees, a total of 4,511 passed the licensure exam. All of the 69 applicants from UP Diliman passed the board.
Other top performing schools were De La Salle University-Manila (92.66 percent), University of Santo Tomas (91.99 percent) and Ateneo de Zamboanga University (80.39 percent).
Meanwhile, UST alumnus Alfonso Solomon Ramos Magno topped the CPA licensure exam with a score of 91.33 percent.
University of the East-Manila graduate Judy Ann Malate Tuzon ranked second with 91.17 percent followed by Carl Louis Garcia Chan of UP Diliman with 91 percent.

The October 2016 CPA licensure exams were held on October 7,8, 14 and 15 at testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao.
The PRC announced that online appointment for the issuance of professional ID and certificate of registration will be from November 9 to 21.
Successful examinees must bring a duly accomplished oath form, notice of admission, two pieces of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag and two sets of doc stamps.
