MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Odette (international name Khanun) has left the Philippine area of responsibility, but a new weather disturbance is expected to enter the country either today or tomorrow.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Robb Gile said the new low-pressure area was spotted over the Pacific Ocean and is not forecast to affect the country in the next three days.

He added that the intertropical convergence zone would bring light to occasionally heavy rains in Metro Manila, Bicol region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western and Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and the provinces of Tawi-Tawi, Sulu and Basilan.

Temperatures in Metro Manila will range from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in the next three days while the rest of the country will have isolated rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.

Gile also said the trough or extension of Odette continued to dump rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands yesterday as it moved toward Southern China.

PAGASA warned seafarers and fishermen of rough to very rough seas over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon, and the western seaboard of Central Luzon.

The weather bureau said one to two cyclones are predicted to enter the country this month.
