MANILA, Philippines — House committees on Wednesday resumed its joint-inquiry into the casino attack.
House committee on Public Order and Safety, as well as committees on Games and Asmusements and on Tourism, are investigating the security lapses of Resorts World Manila, where the attack occurred.
At least 37 people were killed by smoke inhalation after a lone gunman, later on identified as Jessie Carlos, set casino gambling tables and later on himself ablaze last June 2. More than 30 were injured from the incident.
The Wednesday joint-inquiry is the third and the final day of the hearing. The last two hearings were held last June 7 and 14.
