SC salutes soldiers slain in Marawi
MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) is paying tribute to soldiers killed in the ongoing clashes with Maute terrorists in Marawi City.
Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno has ordered Philippine flags flown at half-mast in courts nationwide starting yesterday until Friday.
Aside from the Philippine flag, colors of the high tribunal, Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan and Court of Tax Appeals will also be flown at half-mast within the same period, the SC public information office said.
The order was issued in solidarity with the families of all Filipinos who have been killed since the start of the Marawi siege.
As of yesterday, a total of 58 government troops were confirmed dead while 120 others were wounded in the three weeks since the siege started on May 23.
The terrorists have lost 191 members in the firefight.
