MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police on Tuesday stressed the importance of cooperation between concert organizers and the authorities in the wake of the blast that occurred during Ariana Grande’s concert in the United Kingdom.

The Great Manchester Police said at least 22 people are dead and 50 others were injured in an explosion that occurred during Ariana’s concert in Manchester Arena, UK.

In a statement, PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Dionardo Carlos urged the organizers of Ariana ’s Dangerous Woman Tour in Manila to conduct early coordination regarding security measures for the concert. He advised them to show their security plan ahead of the event.

“The organizer/s of the Ariana Grande concert must involve the local PNP unit so that appropriate security arrangements and assistance can be extended to ensure the safety of the concertgoers,” Carlos said.

“What is important is the early coordination of the event organizers with the PNP,” he said.

The PNP said it is willing to adjust security arrangements for Ariana’s Manila concert.

“The PNP has the security templates in handling international events. Necessary adjustments may be taken based on current and existing condition or environment,” Carlos said.

The 23-year-old American singer is expected to return to Manila for her second concert this year. Her concert is slated Aug. 21, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.

Last Saturday, Ariana's Manila concert producer, MMI Live started selling her tickets. Most tickets were sold out just a week after the singer announced her tour in Manila.
