Metro drug war leaves 4 dead

MANILA, Philippines -  Four suspected drug personalities were killed in alleged shootouts with anti-narcotics agents in Metro Manila on Friday.

In Manila, Ryan Dimacali allegedly pulled out a gun after sensing that he was dealing with an undercover agent, who knocked on his residence on Dagonoy street, Sta. Ana.

Dimacali reportedly shot but missed Police Officer 2 Rhafael Rodriguez of the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 6, triggering a firefight.

The suspect was declared dead on arrival at the Sta. Ana Hospital.

On the same day, a sting on Narciso street in the nearby district of Pandacan resulted in the killing of Victor Hermoso, 43.

The suspect was declared dead on arrival at the Philippine General Hospital following an alleged shootout with Police Officer 1 Rommel Ponce of the MPD Station 10.

Police said they seized from Hermoso a revolver, P500 marked money, five plastic sachets said to contain shabu and dried marijuana leaves.

In Quezon City, Camar Saliling, 29, was killed at around 6 p.m. following a sting on Capas street, Barangay Holy Spirit.

Saliling, whom police said was on the drug list, reportedly sold a sachet of shabu worth P500 to an undercover agent.

The suspect reportedly tried to flee and pulled out a gun when he sensed that he was being surrounded by police officers.

Police said they seized two plastic sachets said to contain shabu from Saliling.

In Pasig City, motorcycle-riding men shot dead Maylon San Jose, 40, in Barangay Pineda.

San Jose was fixing his motorcycle in front of his house when a similar vehicle with two men on board pulled over.

One of the riders approached San Jose and shot him several times, according to Eastern Police District director Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula.

San Jose was declared dead on arrival at the Rizal Medical Center.

Police said San Jose was on the barangay drug list. – Ghio Ong, Emmanuel Tupas, Robertzon Ramirez
