Globe’s PRISM equips 1,000 teachers with digital literacy skills
MANILA, Philippines – Taking learning to the next level, Globe Telecom has come up with a literacy program to help the education sector cope with the digital era.
PRISM, a three-week digital literacy program, is especially designed to help private school teachers improve their knowledge in teaching the Media and Information Literacy (MIL) subject in Senior High School.
One thousand private school teachers have been selected to take part in the program, which includes a two-day bootcamp, blended project-based learning, and personalized coaching, happening from January to June 2017 in selected cities across the Philippines.
“Students today are digital natives, making it necessary for teachers to be adept in the use of technology,” said Michelle Tapia, advisor & head of Globe’s Education Strategy & Innovation.
“Globe seeks to empower every Filipino with world-class learning through technology. We close the gap by providing teachers the digital knowledge and skills that they need to help students succeed in the 21st century, starting with the digital literacy program,” she added.
Participating teachers were carefully selected by both Globe and the Private Education Assistance Committee.
