Juvic ties for second, earns P3.2M
MANILA, Philippines – Juvic Pagunsan missed forcing a playoff with a flubbed birdie putt on No. 18, settling for a 70 and joint second in the Singapore Open won by Prayad Marksaeng at the Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong course yesterday.
Pagunsan, who lost in a playoff to Spain’s Gonzalo Castano here in 2011 but went on to cop the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit title, actually stood at 10-under with three birdies in the first 11 holes. But he fumbled with back-to-back bogeys from No. 12 and missed what could’ve been another shot at the crown with that muffed birdie try on the par-5 18th.
That enabled Marksaeng to snare the crown with a 67 and a 275 worth $180,000.
Pagunsan, who wound up tied at eight-under 276 with three others, pocketed $66,000 (P3.2 million).
Angelo Que limped with a 74 for joint 11th at 279 worth $14,721.
