Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, police regional director, said the case was filed Friday last week following witnesses' testimonies in the massacre of 8 fishermen on the evening of January 9 off Siromon Island.

During the execution, at least seven companions of the victims were able to flee.

Beltran said two of the suspects have been arrested and positively identified by the witnesses.

He said eight counts of murder and frustrated murder with robbery and extortion was filed against the suspects.

He said the investigating team has identified seven others who remained at large. The prosecutor, however, advised them not to make public the names of the suspects pending the manhunt.
