MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday ordered the cancellation of the investor visa of Chinese gaming tycoon Jack Lam.

The Justice department also issued a lookout bulletin against Lam despite travel records from the Bureau of Immigration showing that the gaming tycoon already fled the country on November 29, four days after 1,316 Chinese workers were arrested in his Fontana Leisure Park and Casino Hotel in Clark Field, Pampanga.

A source of The STAR, however, claimed Lam is still in the country.

“Considering the gravity of the offenses allegedly committed and apparent reports that he has already left the country, there is a strong possibility that he may attempt to place himself beyond reach of the legal processes of this government by leaving the country,” the lookout bulletin read.

“We thus deem the issuance of an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order against him prudent in order to at least monitor the itineraries of their flight, travel and/or whereabouts, or if warranted, effectuate his immediate arrest pursuant to the directives of the president,” it added.

The Chinese workers were arrested in Lam’s Fontana Casino which operates without a license from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. and only a permit from Clark Development Corp.

According to the Philippine National Police, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the arrest of Lam, with real name “Yin Lok Lam,” despite the lack of a warrant of arrest. Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said the arrest order was valid as it was based on economic sabotage charges.
