CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Transportation Office has announced that Osmeña Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 12 noon today until the Christ the King activity is finished.

CCTO head Rafael Yap said traffic enforcers will be deployed to assist the motorists and the public who will be affected by the rerouting. 

“Motorists, drivers, and other road users are advised to observe and follow the traffic signs installed on the rerouting areas to minimize traffic congestion,” Yap said.

There will be a Holy Mass at N. Escario Street from Villalon Drive to Don Gil Garcia Street. The mass will precede a solemn procession from Capitol area to Metropolitan Cathedral.

Public utility jeepneys from Banawa and Guadalupe going to carbon area should take V. Rama Avenue. PUJs from barangays Lahug and Apas, and areas near Ayala that will pass along N. Escario Street should turn left to Juana Osmeña to General Maxilom Street then to F. Ramos Street and to their usual route.

PUJs from Bulacao, Pardo, and Labangon that will traverse N. Bacalso Street should take Leon Kilat Street to Sanciangko Street or Borromeo Street then to their usual route. PUJs from Talamban and Pit-os should take Junquera Street then to P. Del Rosario Street and back to their usual route. Those from Mabolo and Mandaue City are asked to take V. Gullas Street then to P. Burgos Street going to Urdaneta Street and MJ Cuenco Avenue then back o their usual route.

Motorists from the north going to south and vice versa will use the South Coastal Road. Private vehicles coming from the south going to Capitol and Lahug area are advised to take F. Llamas Street then to Katipunan Street and left turn to Duterte Street to their destination.

Private vehicles from the north going to Capitol or uptown area should traverse M. J. Cuenco Avenue to Juan Luna Street to Gorordo Avenue to M. Gaisano Street or N. Escario Street to their destination. (BANAT NEWS)
