8 corpses found in Makati, Pasay
MANILA, Philippines - The bodies of eight alleged victims of summary execution were found in the cities of Pasay and Makati from Wednesday night until before dawn yesterday.
Dennis Magdilira, 32, was found along Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue near the Pasay City Academy; Efren Escrupulo, 34, along Chaepi Road in Barangay 195; Edgardo Lonseras, 34, along BAC 1-11 near Don Carlos Bridge, said case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Giovani Arcinue.
The bodies of June Casan, 54, and Ricardo Medina, 22, were found beside each other in front of Cuneta Warehouse on Cuneta Avenue.
Arcinue believes the victims were hogtied before they were stabbed to death.
Sachets of shabu and marijuana were recovered in the pockets of Casan, Lonseras and Medina.
The five victims were allegedly involved in muggings in the city and identified as drug personalities in their respective barangays, Arcinue said.
In Makati, the bodies of three unidentified men, all bearing stab wounds, were found in different areas of the city before dawn yesterday.
Senior Inspector Ronald Saquilan, city police investigation chief, said he believes the murders are drug-related after a placard identifying them as drug pushers was found near one of the bodies.
He added that the victims may be connected to the bodies found in Pasay.
One of the victims was found along Morse street in Barangay San Isidro at around 12:30 a.m. while two were found along Mascardo street in Barangay Bangkal at past 1 a.m.
