Avoiding disaster

THE EAR - The Freeman

Absolute power. President Duterte has allowed for the rehabilitation of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant. It will cost taxpayers around $1 billion; however, the electricity that will be produced will be significantly cheaper, bringing power rates down. Even with this benefit, a lot of people are uncomfortable with the idea of a nuclear power plant in the Philippines. A concerned citizen reacted, "Security is a big issue here. I suggest they convert the Batasang Pambansa or Malacañang as nuclear power plant, so I can sleep at night."

Skipping Kris. The very much anticipated interview of President Duterte by Kris Aquino fizzled when Digong skipped the event because he was suffering from a migraine. Nevertheless, hours later, President Duterte was able to attend two events.
