The most inclusive state visit

Last week, I joined the delegation of President Rodrigo Duterte on his state visit to China. It was the largest Filipino contingent in history with more than 500 business delegates and government officials.

I can say that this is a very inclusive state visit. For many state visits before, you will have to apply then if you’re lucky, you will be selected. Here, you state if you want to go then you will just have to pay your own fare and hotel. The Department of Trade and Industry did a very good job managing all the delegates, given the very strict security.

It was successful as we have developed our relationship with China and brought home billions worth of investments and partnerships.
