QCPD: Drug den operator an Abu bandit
MANILA, Philippines – An alleged drug den operator, arrested last month, is indeed part of the Abu Sayyaf bandit group and has been using different names to hide his criminal record, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said yesterday.
Juraid Sahiddun, alias Sahibul Sailani and Juraid Sahibul, has a pending warrant of arrest with the regional trial court of Basilan for his involvement in the 2001 Tairan kidnapping case.
Records of the Naval Intelligence and Security Group under the operational control of Fleet Marine Ready Force through the Naval Task Group NCR confirmed that the three names were used by one person.
Sahiddun was arrested by the QCPD during a raid on the Salaam Compound in Barangay Culiat. He was caught in his house, which he supposedly used as a drug den.
He was allegedly involved in the abduction of 15 Golden Harvest coconut plantation workers in Barangay Tairan, Lantawan town in June 2001.
One of the victims identified Sahiddun as among those who kidnapped them.
