63% of Filipinos say Duterte can deliver on most, if not all, of his vows

MANILA, Philippines — A new poll showed that 63 percent of Filipinos believe President Rodrigo Duterte could fulfill most, if not all, of his promises.

The poll was released on Monday as the president geared up for his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) where he is expected to discuss the targets of executive agencies and reiterate campaign promises.

Breaking down the numbers, 22 percent expect Duterte to deliver on all or nearly all of his promises, 41 percent expect him to deliver on most of it and 32 percent expect him to accomplish only a few.

Only 1 percent believe he could not fulfill his vows while those who were undecided or refused to answer were at 3 percent.

The survey asked: "In your opinion, how many of the promises of Pres. Rody Duterte can be fulfilled? [All or nearly all of the promises, Most of the promises, A few of the promises, Almost none or none of the promises]."

The percentage of those who expect Duterte to accomplish most up to all of his promises was highest in Mindanao at 75 percent. Metro Manila followed with 66 percent, Balance of Luzon at 60 percent and Visayas at 54 percent.

More women expect Dutert to accomplish most up to all of his vows at 65 percent compared to the men at 62 percent.

Meanwhile, class ABC have the highest expectation with 69 percent saying the president will accomplish most up to all of his promises. Classes D and E followed closely behind at 63 and 65 percent, respectively.

The survey was conducted last June 24-27 using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide. The poll has a ±3% error margin. — Levi A. So; Infographic by RP Ocampo
