3 more suspected drug pushers killed in Baguio, Cavite

MANILA, Philippines – Three more were added to the long list of suspected drug pushers getting killed in separate incidents in Cavite and Baguio City over the weekend.

The latest killings brought to 63 the number of drug-related deaths since the May 9 elections.

In Cavite, two suspected drug pushers identified only as “Onyok” and “Totoy” were shot down by lawmen during an anti-drug operation in Bacoor City late Saturday.

Five other suspects were arrested during the raid, Cavite police director Senior Superintendent Eliseo Cruz said.

In Baguio City, Alfie Espededo Asuncion died while being treated at the hospital for multiple gunshot wounds.

Asuncion was repairing his motorcycle when two men approached him and fired their handguns.

Baguio City police director Sr. Supt. George Daskeo said Asuncion was included in the watchlist of drug suspects in the city.

There is also an increasing number of arrests by the police.

A total of 249 drug suspects were arrested in the series of drug operations in Angeles City, Pampanga since January, city police chief Sr. Supt. Sidney Villafor said.

In Tondo, Manila, five suspects were arrested in a drug sting operation over the weekend.

Lawmen confiscated 19 sachets of shabu along with several bladed weapons and a .38 caliber revolver from the suspects.

Three more suspects were arrested on Friday after they were caught in a pot session inside a shanty in Barangay Pansol in Quezon City. – Ed Amoroso, Raymund Catindig, Romina Cabrera, Rey Galupo, Ric Sapnu
