Elmo & Janella: A love team is born

We first saw Janella Salvador in Be Careful With My Heart playing Nikki Lim. It was followed by her first main lead role in the daytime teleserye Oh My G! as Sophie Cepeda. Both were produced by ABS-CBN. 

Janella proved her skills in acting, winning her first acting award in the 27th PMPC Star Awards for Television.

We will be seeing her again with Elmo Magalona in the new series Born For You, which is directed by Dan Villegas and Onat Diaz. It is slated to premiere this month under Dreamscape Productions, the same unit behind the shows FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, On the Wings of Love, Doble Kara, Wansapanatym, Love You So and Written in our Stars.

The story revolves around two teenagers, whose red strings are connected to one another, binding them together.

Supporting cast members include Vina Morales, Ariel Rivera, Gina Pareño, Freddie Webb, Joshua Garcia, Katya Santos, Smokey Manaloto, Ogie Diaz, Neil Coleta, Young JV and Joj Martin.

It is obvious that the big-budgeted Born For You is the first team-up of Elmo and Janella. And the first teleserye of Elmo since he transferred to ABS-CBN.

Elmo and Janella were together in Japan where many scenes were shot. David Pomeranz was the original singer of Born For You, used as the theme song.

Doble Kara keeps spot as top afternoon series

Kapamilya afternoon series Doble Kara sustains its lead over rival shows and continues to draw viewers as it hit another all-time high national TV rating recently.

The Julia Montes-led series conquered the afternoon programming last May 24 and won the hearts of the urban and rural viewers with its rating of 19.8 percent, according to data from Kantar Media.

Meanwhile, as the story continues, Kara (Julia) has already accepted and moved on from the death of her daughter Isabella. Things will even get better as she meets Hannah, a girl from the orphanage where she works.

Along with the changes happening in her twin’s life, Sara also faces her own battle to make ends meet and give her daughter Rebecca the life she deserves.

Will Sara still be able to provide for her family alone? How can Hannah change Kara’s life?
