MANILA, Philippines — The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) is set to end on Wednesday its unofficial quick count of the votes in the May 9 elections.

According to a report from The STAR, PPCRV will terminate its quick count before 10 p.m.

The PPCRV is still waiting for the results of the special elections in Masiu, Lanao del Sur before the end the unofficial tally.

As of press time, the PPCRV has received election returns from more than 96 percent of precincts.

The PPCRV said that they had recorded the highest encoding of election returns on Tuesday with 9,000.

The Commission on Elections is expected to proclaim the elected senators and party-lists by Thursday.

On the other hand, the House of Representatives and the Senate will convene and hold a joint session on May 23 to start their work as national board of canvassers for presidential and vice presidential votes. – Patricia Lourdes Viray
