Gordon leads overseas senatorial unofficial tallies

MANILA, Philippines – A different candidate is leading in the overseas senatorial voting, based on the partial and unofficial tally of votes.

According to the Comelec-GMA mirror server as of 9:55 a.m., Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon is on the lead of the senatorial candidates with 101,756 votes, followed by Sen. Francis Pangilinan with 92,204 votes.

This is contrary to the unofficial tally from votes in the Philippines, where Senate President Franklin Drilon and TESDA Chairman Joel Villanueva lead the senatorial race.

Other candidates who are part of the “Magic 12” include Panfilo Lacson with 83,105 votes, Drilon with 82,958 votes, Ralph Recto with 82,081 votes, Emmanuel Pacquiao with 80,174 votes and Sergio Osmeña II with 79,066 votes.

Vicente Sotto III has 74,440 votes, Juan Miguel Zubiri with 66,507 votes, Joel Villanueva with 60,585 votes, Risa Hontiveros with 60,434 votes and Teofisto Guingona III with 56,677 votes.

These numbers are just 27.33 percent of the votes transmitted from different overseas precincts. Results from 54 countries are still to be included in the tally.
