MANILA, Philippines — Leni Robredo has already forgiven the teenager who bashed her online.

“Wala tayong kasalanan, papalampasin na lang natin ito,” she said in an interview on “Unang Balita” on Thursday morning.

“Wala pa silang ginagawa, pinapatawad ko na sila,” she added.

On Tuesday, Robredo said that when she started gaining numbers, someone posted a comment on her Facebook page wishing that she should have died in the plane crash instead of her husband, the late Department of Interior and Local Government Sec. Jesse Robredo.

In a separate report by Mav Gonzales aired in the same show, the female teenager said that her post was due to strong emotions after seeing that Robredo got ahead of Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos who is also vying for the vice presidential position.

“Ma’am Leni, sorry po nasabi ko,” said the teenager. “Hindi ko naman po gusto mangyari sa inyo yon. Nadala lang po ako ng emosyon kasi nagulat ako sa biglang lamang sa botohan.”

Meanwhile, the teenager’s school has also issued a statement regarding the issue, clearing their institution’s name from the statement made by their student.

They also noted that they were the ones who convinced the student to issue a public apology. — Joyce Jimenez
