VP bets among early birds at polling centers

MANILA, Philippines - Vice presidential candidates headed to their respective polling precincts to cast their votes as early as 6 a.m. on Monday, when polling centers opened.

Independent vice presidential bet  and running mate of Sen. Grace Poe, Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, lined up early with wife Heart Evangelista to cast his vote in Precinct 0079A at Buhatan Elementary School in his hometown in Sorsogon.

Vice presidential bet Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., running mate of Sen. Miriam Santiago, voted at Mariano Memorial Marcos Memorial Elementary School in his bailiwick, Ilocos Norte. He proceeded to Batac Church after voting and conducted a press conference in Batac Mansion.

Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s running mate, was also one of the early bird vice presidential candidates to cast his vote. He voted with wife re-electionist Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano in Sta. Teresa Elementary School in Taguig City.

 

United Nationalist Alliance’s vice presidential bet and Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay’s running mate,  Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan voted with his wife and daughter at the Nativity of Our Lady Parish in Marikina City.

“Our thanks to all Filipinos each empowered with one responsible vote today to make a difference in the life of our nation and the future of our children. God bless,” Honasan said.

Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, who supports Sen. Grace Poe despite not being her running mate, voted at the Holy Infant Montessori Center in Caloocan City.

 

 

Liberal Party vice presidential candidate and running mate of Manuel “Mar” Roxas, Camarines Sur Rep. Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo is expected to vote by 10 a.m. She first headed to Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Peñafrancia with her children to offer prayers.
