Drilon continues to lead senatorial race – survey
MANILA, Philippines - Senate President Franklin Drilon continues to lead the senatorial aspirants in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
In the First Quarter 2016 Social Weather Survey conducted last March 30 to April 2, Drilon got the highest votes with 45 percent, followed by Sen. Vicente Sotto III with 42 percent.
Former senators Francis Pangilinan and Panfilo Lacson obtained 37 percent each.
Former justice secretary Leila de Lima, former senator Juan Miguel Zubiri and world boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao each received 31 percent.
Former Akbayan representative Risa Hontiveros, Sen. Sergio Osmeña III, Sen. Ralph Recto and former senator Richard Gordon got 30 percent each.
Former Technical Education and Skills Development Authority director general Joel Villanueva received 28 percent.
The survey used face-to-face interviews with 1,500 adults nationwide, of whom 1,377 or 92 percent are validated voters. It has sampling error margins of plus or minus three percentage points.
Results of the latest SWS survey were printed in the newspaper BusinessWorld yesterday.
