MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections on Wednesday started the bidding for the bib vests that teachers or Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) will use as uniforms for the May 9 elections.

The teachers who will supervise poll precincts for the upcoming elections will be required to wear uniform bib vests.

The poll body is set to procure 354,053 bib vests that the BEIs will wear on election day.

Meanwhile, Comelec employees will be required to wear collared shirts as uniforms for the upcoming polls. The poll body's total budget for the procurement of uniforms is P26 million.

The Comelec will also bid out the supply of 100,000 pieces of round tip scissors worth P10 each for cutting voter receipts.

The Supreme Court earlier affirmed its order directing the poll body to issue voter receipts for the upcoming elections.
