Remember sacrifices of cops, Bongbong tells public
MANILA, Philippines – Vice presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is urging Filipinos to always remember the sacrifices of police officers in protecting the communities and the nation.
Marcos made the call at the sidelines of the 36th alumni homecoming of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) at Camp Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite yesterday.
“We depend so much on the police for our safety and security. It is important to remember the sacrifices they made and the bravery and honor they’ve shown in the performance of their duties,” he said.
Marcos was invited to the event as an honorary member of the PNPA “Tagapagbuklod Class of ’89.”
He said his presence at the event should not be viewed as politicking, noting his critics always equate his actions to politics.
“Everything I do, since I’m a candidate, they say it’s politicking. I regularly attend the PNPA event. It’s not something that I’m doing only now because of the campaign period,” he said.
