Poe's DNA test with Guimaras woman turns out negative
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe on Friday revealed that the DNA test with her supposed relatives in Guimaras turned out negative.
According to a report from radio dzMM, the presidential candidate said that the DNA test results with Lorena Dechavez yielded negative results.
Dechavez earlier claimed to be the sister of Poe's biological mother.
However, Poe said that the negative DNA test results with Dechavez will not have any effect on her defense in connection to the disqualification case filed against her before the Supreme Court.
The high court is still holding weekly hearings for Poe's case despite criticisms from congressional leaders that the resolution on the senator's case is slow.
Earlier this week, Poe officially launched her presidential campaign together with her running mate Sen. Francis Escudero and their senatorial slate.
