PNoy admits finding humor in candidates' slogans

MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III on Wednesday made fun of the political slogans of some candidates for the upcoming elections.

In his speech before the League of Municipalities of the Philippines General Assembly and Mayors' Forum, Aquino bared his thoughts on political advertisements that he sees on the television and on newspapers.

"Pare-pareho tayong pulitiko, kanya-kanya tayong islogan.

The president added that some political candidates assume that the Filipino voters do not compare their leaders' shortcomings with their new promises on their campaign slogans.

Aquino noted that he might face more criticisms as his term ends. He recalled how he was insulted and slandered when he ran for president in 2010.

Aquino also acknowledged the presence of Liberal Party standard bearer Manuel "Mar" Roxas II and Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, who will continue his "Tuwid na Daan" or straight path.

During the proclamation rally of the Liberal Party in Roxas City on Tuesday, Aquino called on the public to make wise choices and vote for the administration bets.

The campaign period for the national elections kicked off on February 9 and will end on May 7.
