IN PHOTOS: Poe-Escudero's Partido Galing at Puso kicks off campaign

MANILA, Philippines - Presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe and her running mate, Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero, held a proclamation rally at the Plaza Miranda in Manila as the campaign period officially started on Tuesday.

Members of their senatorial slate - Valenzuela Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian, Lawyer Lorna Kapunan, Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Colmenares, Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, ACT-CIS Rep. Samuel Pagdilao, Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo, OFW rights advocate Susan Ople, former Sen. Richard Gordon and Sen. Tito Sotto were also present during the kick-off rally.

Actor Edu Manzano is also a part of the slate but he was not present at the campaign launch. Former Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri was represented by his wife Audrey in the kick-off launch as he could not attend the event.

Sen. Ralph Recto was also not able to attend the event as he is also a senatorial candidate of the Liberal Party.

The campaign period will end on May 7, two days before the elections on May 9. - Patricia Lourdes Viray
