PhlPost Christmas stamps feature works of special kids

MANILA, Philippines - Artworks of children with autism are featured in the Pasko stamps of the Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) this year.

Enrique Tagle, PHLPost marketing management and support services manager, yesterday said that every year, they make it a point to partner with a foundation in coming out with Christmas stamp designs.

Tagle said this is in line with their corporate social responsibility.

For this year, PHLPost partnered with Bridges Foundation Inc. that helps care for children with special needs.

“We coordinated with Bridges Foundation and they submitted photographs of works of art made by children with autism. The foundation was informed that we would use them for our Christmas stamps,” Tagle said.

Names of the artists can be seen at the bottom of each stamp.

Tagle said they are hoping that through the stamps, they would be able to showcase the drawing skills of the children.

He added that through their Christmas stamps, they are also able to let the public know about the foundations where people could send whatever help they can.

Last year, PHLPost featured works done by foot and mouth painting artists.

PHLPost commissioned Amstar Company Inc. to print 104,000 pieces of this year’s Pasko stamps that cost P10 each and 5,000 copies of souvenir sheets sold at P30 per piece.

The stamp that measures 30x40 mm and the souvenir sheet measuring 11 cm x 6.5 mm were issued last Nov. 25. These stamps would be available at the PHLPost Post Shop until Nov. 24 next year or until supplies last.
