Maynilad water interruptions in Metro Manila, Cavite start today

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The scheduled water interruption of the Maynilad Water Services Inc. in and Cavite will start today.

Among the affected areas in the metropolis are Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Manila, Muntinlupa, Parañaque and Pasay, while in Cavite are Bacoor, Cavite City, Imus and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario.

Supply will be out from 1 p.m. today until 10 p.m. on Thursday, and from 1 p.m. on Aug. 17 to 3 p.m. of the next day.

The service interruption will pave the way for a flood control project of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Maynilad said they would deploy 35 trucks to ration water to affected consumers. It said a window time would be provided during the service interruption from Aug. 14 to 16 to allow residents to replenish their water stock.

Maynilad said the water supply during the window time might be discolored or contain sediments. When this happens, the public is advised not to use this for drinking or cooking.

Residents may use this for flushing and cleaning.

As early as last Friday, Maynilad reminded its consumers to store water for the service interruptions this month.

Consumers were advised to store water in covered containers and boil this if intended for drinking or cooking.

Consumers may call Maynilad hotline 1626 or text 0998-8641446 for additional information.

Updates will also be posted on Maynilad’s Facebook (www.facebook.com/MayniladWater) and Twitter (@maynilad) accounts.
