MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Ombudsman on Monday issued a second suspension order against Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin "Junjun" Binay in relation to the alleged anomalous construction of the Makati Science High School building.

According to a report, the Department of the Interior and Local Government has received the order from the Ombudsman on Monday morning.

Claro Certeza, Binay's lawyer, earlier defended the Makati mayor and stressed that the order does not have factual nor legal basis.

Last March, the Ombudsman ordered the suspension of Binay in connection to the alleged overpriced construction of the Makati City Hall Building II during the term of his father Vice President Jejomar Binay as mayor.

The Court of Appeals issued a temporary restraining order against the said suspension citing "seriousness of issues raised" and "possible repercussions on the electorate."
