No lotto draws starting tomorrow until Easter Sunday
MANILA, Philippines - No lotto tickets will be sold and no lotto draws made starting tomorrow, Maundy Thursday, up to Easter Sunday in observance of Holy Week.
In a statement, Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, acting Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) chairman and general manager, said the selling of lotto tickets and lotto draws will resume on April 6, Monday.
“We thank all Lotto players for your trust and confidence in the PCSO games, and we count on your continued support of our efforts to raise funds for charity,” he said.
Last Monday, a 29-year-old tricycle driver claimed his P59.2-million Mega Lotto pot.
His wife left him two years ago because his earnings were too little.
Rojas said the lone winner placed the winning combination of 02-03-14-22-29-30 in the March 20 Mega Lotto 6/45 draw with a P20 bet.
He based the winning combination on the birthdates of his two children and their ages, he added.
The tricycle driver has been placing lotto bets for the past year, Rojas said.
The latest lotto millionaire said he intends to buy a house and lot, a car and send his children back to school.
