The ‘Heart’ of summer

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - • Heart Evangelista graces the cover of PeopleAsia magazine’s April-May 2015 issue. The year’s most talked about bride and other sizzling personalities open up about their personal journeys in the magazine’s special summer issue.

PeopleAsia delves deeper into the whirlwind romance of Heart and her husband Sen. Chiz Escudero in a 10-page cover story, shot in the blushing bride’s modest but heartwarming townhouse. Heart and Chiz talked about their long road to the altar, as they reminisced about how their relationship blossomed amid a sea of intrigues, especially without the blessing of Heart’s parents. PeopleAsia also transports its readers to the couple’s dream wedding, as their guest Margie Duavit recounts the magical moments during the couple’s wedding in Balesin.

Joining Heart and Chiz in this issue are a number of notable personalities, who also opened up about their personal journeys in life. Leading the lineup are a couple of male head turners: cop-turned-pageant-winner Neil Perez, who was named Mr. International after besting 27 other candidates during the pageant in South Korea; and Taiwanese superstar Eddie Peng, who recently visited the Philippines to grace the opening of the newest Longines store in SM Megamall.

Girl power also reigns supreme in this issue, thanks to a trio of notable female personalities who have marked various milestones in their lives. Scoring one for the girls is Special Olympics Philippines’ Global Youth Ambassador Brina Kei Maxino, who shares her inspiring story on trumping Down Syndrome, and wowing US President Barack Obama and Katy Perry during her visit to the White House. Designer Pia Gladys Perey, meanwhile, shares her insights on fashion and celebrating a woman’s inner beauty, while beauty-queen-turned-chef-and-tv-host Sabrina Artadi takes readers on a magical journey – both in the kitchen and in the field of advocacy.

In line with its theme of summer and personal journeys, PeopleAsia also whisks its readers to a number of local and foreign destinations that will surely take anyone’s breath away. For starters, STAR columnist Christine Dayrit talks about the magnificent view of the Table Mountain from the luxurious One&Only Hotel in South Africa; while STAR columnist and assistant editor Bum Tenorio talks about the magic and madness of Pamplona, Zaragoza and Barcelona in Spain.

On the local front, readers are sure to enjoy a variety of options as they are transported to the romantic paradise of Lagen in El Nido, the old-world charm of Vigan and the dining mecca of Seabreeze Café at the Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Spa.

Vintage beauty also makes a fashion statement as the magazine debuts the latest summer fashions in the nostalgic Villa Tortuga in Taal. PeopleAsia also trains the limelight on a smorgasbord of beauty and fashion tips, as well as an armada of fashion must-haves within the pages of the magazine.
