Poll body suspends voter’s registration
MANILA, Philippines - Voter registration for the 2016 elections is suspended starting today and until Sunday.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesman James Jimenez said the suspension is due to the observance of All Saints’ Day tomorrow and All Souls’ Day on Sunday.
“This is to give our employees the opportunity to fulfill All Saints’/All Souls’ Day duties and observances that have become part and parcel of Filipino culture,” he said.
However, Jimenez said application forms for registration may be filled up online through the “iRehistro” project.
Applicants need only to visit www.iRehistro.com or www.comelec.gov.ph to fill outthe form and print three copies that could be brought to the Office of Election Officers (OEOs).
The iRehistro project is available in all Comelec offices in the National Capital Region.
By Nov. 3 it would be available at the Philippine embassy in Madrid, Spain.
