Military to act against German who intrudes camp

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - The military will carry out the necessary actions against a German national who intruded a restricted area inside its camp where a US Marine, a suspect in the murder of a Filipino transgender, is being held.

Lt. Col. Harold Cabunoc, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) public affairs office chief, said today that the military leadership would submit a letter to the German Embassy and the Bureau of Immigration about the misbehavior of Marc Sueselbeck, fiance of Jeffrey Laude, alias Jennifer, who was allegedly killed by US Marine Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton.

Sueselbeck entered an off-limits area, the Mutual Defense Board- Security Engagement Board (MDB-SEB) facility in the military headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, on Wednesday afternoon.

Cabunoc said that Sueselbeck violated Presidential Decree No. 1227, or the law Punishing Unlawful Entry into Any Military Base in the Philippines.

"We'd also like to ascertain through the German Embassy the true identity and pertinent background information about Mr. Sueselbeck whose misbehavior caught the attention of Philippine authorities," he said, adding that the German national assaulted the on-duty Filipino soldier guarding the facility.

It is understood that any foreign nationals who visit the Philippines shall follow Philippine laws, he said, adding that the military will deal with the incident accordingly through proper channels.
