Youth activist group puts up 'Oustagram' booth
MANILA, Philippines - A group of students on Monday placed a makeshift photo booth along Commonwealth Avenue as they held protests on the day of President Aquino's fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The photo booth had a streamer with the words: "OUSTagram: Ano ang Hugot mo?"
The students called on protesters to have their pictures taken with placards and streamers stating their sentiments.
The National Network of Agrarian Reform Advocates (NNARA) erected the photo booth also to inform the public of their stand on Aquino's continuing defense of the Disbursement Acceleration Program.
"It is clear for the Filipino people that DAP was not used for development since they simply could not feel it. So-called development are felt only by the plunderers," said Lei Mora, Chairperson of NNARA.
The pictures taken from the booth will be uploaded on Instagram and other social media sites.
"Social media is a fun way in which we are able to expose un-fun realities, but it is just one of the many," Mora said.
NNARA youth is an organization of students, including those from the University of the Philippines and Polytechnic University of the Philippines. - Diana Cudia, trainee
