6,342 stranded due to 'Glenda' - Coast Guard

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 6,342 have been stranded in various ports across the country due to approaching Typhoon "Glenda," the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Tuesday.

In an update on its website, the PCG said 634 rolling cargoes, 34 vessels and 11 motor bancas are also stranded as of noon.

The stranded passengers were located in the following areas:

Coast Guard District Bicol - 1,646 passengers

  • Port of Tabaco, Albay - 460
  • Port of Pio Duran, Albay - 76
  • Port of Bulan, Sorsogon - 20
  • Port of Pilar, Sorsogon - 76
  • Port of Matnog, Sorsogon - 993
  • Port of Cataingan, Masbate - 10
  • Port of Pasacao, Camarines Sur - 11

Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog - 1,689 passengers

  • Port of Batangas - 1,565
  • Port of Mamburao - 20
  • Port of Calapan - 70
  • Port of Lucena - 34

Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas - 1,518 passengers

  • Port of Catbalogan - 1,518

Coast Guard District National Capital Region and Central Luzon - 1489

  • North Harbor - 1,489
