The 30 NCAA Hotties

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

“The list,” according to Nap Gutierrez who prepared it like the previous ones (including the UAAP roster), “hasn’t changed much, except that those who have been outstanding players last year for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) have gained much fame as they have made it the higher league, the PBA. Notable among these are the Semerad Brothers, Anthony (who now plays for Global Port) and David (who now plays for San Miguel Beer), and who are both from San Beda College Red Lions, last year’s champions in the league.”

Nap based this year’s Honor Roll on campus popularity, play excellence in the current NCAA 91st season, “and the shrieks and screams from the live audience at the San Juan Arena” generated by (at random) Mark Cruz and Rey Nambatac (Letran College), Jiovanni Jalalon and Kenneth Zamora (Arellano U), Scottie Thompson and Antonio Tamayo (Perpetual Help College), Josan Nimes and Andretti Stevens (Mapua), Radge Tongco (San Beda College), Jan Ortuste and Jeffrey Santos (San Sebastian College), Paolo Pontejos (Jose Rizal College), Jonathan Grey (College of St. Benilde), Francis Munsayac (Emillio Aguinaldo College), and Shaq Alanes and Wilson Baltazar (Lyceum of the Philippines).

Added Nap, “All these hardcourt heartthrobs, plus the others on the list, are the keeping the NCAA 91st more interesting and more fun to watch. The live attendance has also grown in numbers, as compared with the past year’s. Most of the hotties (Jalalon, Grey, Thompson, Stevens, Munsayac and Nambatac) are members of the Smart Elite, the new batch of collegiate ambassadors of Smart Telecom.”
