Body Talk with the Harana Hunks

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

There are all-male groups of all shapes and sizes with varying target markets, and then there is Harana.

The members are the types described in the vernacular as (oops! no malice intended makalaglag-panty, cute and cuddlesome at the same time — Joseph Marco, Bryan Santos, Michael Pangilinan and Marlo Mortel.

Star Magic management saw a video of Joseph and Bryan singing together at a private party and that’s how very simply the idea of forming a group took shape.

The management realized that there was a need for a new OPM boy group. Soon, the quartet was complete, with Marlo and Michael, who was considered after he made waves at the Himig Handog with the song Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako.

Besides their good looks, the hunks will serenade you with pop songs. Swoon if you must, as you should!

What’s your regular diet?

Joseph: Lots of water and no rice.

Bryan: I try to follow the basics of the Type O Blood Type Diet. Pero hindi siya strict. I just basically try to avoid food that the diet suggests that I must avoid. I also try to eat at four to five small meals a day. Lately, I’ve been getting into organic food.

Michael: Heavy breakfast and no rice.

Marlo: I eat anything.

Michael: Ten glasses (one liter).

Marlo: I don’t really count.

What about vitamins or supplements?

Joseph: Multivitamins and Vitamin C.

Michael: Weight-lifting.

Marlo: Regular muscle workout. If I have time, I go to the gym.

Any part of your body that needs improvement?

Joseph: I’m pretty comfortable with how I look right now, so I don’t think there’s any part of my body that needs improvement.

Bryan: Love handles, hahahaha!!!

Michael: Abs and chest.

Marlo: My abs.

What part of your body is most vulnerable?

Joseph: My knees, I guess from playing a lot of sports, although there’s no major problem with it.

Bryan: Again, love handles, hahahaha!

Michael: My hair.

Marlo: My arms.

Michael: My nose.

Marlo: My chest.

What part of a girl’s body to you notice first?

Michael: Her armpit.

Marlo: Face and eyes.

How much sleep do you get per night?

Joseph: We tape Pasion de Amor usually overnight, so I don’t get to sleep until morning up to early afternoon.

Michael: Six to eight hours.

Marlo: I’m lucky if I get six to eight hours because of taping.

Last thing that you do before you go to sleep?

Joseph: I pray. There’s so much that I’m really grateful for. So I thank Him every night.

Bryan: I have to watch something, anything…a movie, TV show, etc. Kung hindi, hirap ako matulog dahil nag-iisip ako. Kaya para ma-relax ang mind ko, nanonood na lang ako ng kung ano.

Michael: Pray.

Marlo: Sound trip.

First thing that you do as soon as you wake up?

Joseph: Brush my teeth.

Bryan: Check my phone.

Joseph: Not that I know of.

Bryan: Pag puyat o pagod, yes.

Michael: Yes.

Marlo: Yes.

Do you talk in your sleep?

Joseph: I hope not!

Bryan: Oo daw.

Michael: No. I mean, I don’t know kasi tulog ako, eh. Hehehehe!

Marlo: Not really.

Do you sleepwalk?

Joseph: No.

Bryan: Oo din daw.

Michael: No.

Favorite sleepwear?

Joseph: Boxers.

Bryan: Boxer briefs lang, kung puwede. Kung hindi, sweats o basketball shorts and maybe a T-shirt.

Michael: Boxers.

Marlo: Boxers.

Do you ever sleep in the nude?

Joseph: No, never!

Bryan: Very rarely. Pero I have before.

Michael: No.

Marlo: No.

How many pillows do you sleep with?

Joseph: Just one or two.

Bryan: Sometimes one, sometimes two.

Michael: Four.

Marlo: Three.

How’s your nightlife?

Joseph: I’m not really a night person.

Bryan: Very chill na ako these days. Dati, mas active ako sa nightlife. Ngayon, sobrang paminsan-minsan na lang. I no longer do it just because…ngayon it’s more of a social thing for me.

Michael: Not a party-goer.

Marlo: Chill. I don’t hang out that much. I’d rather rest.

How’s your love life?

Joseph: Still looking.

Bryan: None. My heart is in my work, my family and, most of all, God. Jesus naman will provide me with the right woman at the right time.

Michael: Good.

Marlo: Fine. Not my priority now. Work first.

How’s your sex life?

Joseph: Zero.

Bryan: No comment, hahahaha!

Michael: Unbelievable.

Marlo: Hmmmm…

How do you cope with stress?

Joseph: Through sports and music. I play either basketball or football. When I can’t go out, I turn to my guitar.

Bryan: Video games, hahahaha! 2k o Madden sa PS4.

Michael: Play basketball.

Marlo: Watch movies.

Favorite city?

Joseph: London! I really love the life there. I admire how it’s able to combine culture and class with modernity. It has a good transportation system, too, so I’m able to go around the city without worries.

Bryan: L.A. It’s home for me. I was born and raised there for 20-plus years. I also love New York. Excited ako na the next teleserye that I will be in will be taping in New York. Can’t wait for The Story Of Us.

Michael: New York.

Marlo: Muntinlupa City where I grew up.

Favorite hideaway?

Joseph: My room. There’s nothing like the comfort of my bed after a long day (or night) of work.

Bryan: My room. I like sometimes to just be locked in my room to be alone with my thoughts. I think naman kailangan natin lahat ‘yun from time to time.

Michael: My car.

Marlo: My car.

Three women that you think have nice bodies?

Joseph: Natalie Portman, Olivia Wilde and Jessica Chastain.

Bryan: Ellen Adarna, Marian Rivera and Megan Fox.

Michael: Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff and Maja Salvador.

Marlo: Solenn Heussaff, Coleen Garcia and Jennifer Lawrence.

And three men that you think have bodies as nice as yours?

Joseph: It would be embarrassing for me to assume that my body’s even half as good as theirs. But I would really want to know how Joe Manganiello, Ryan Reynolds and Henry Cavill maintain their bodies.

Bryan: As nice as mine? How about three men that I want my body to be as nice as? Hahahaha! If I had a peg for myself, I would try to achieve the body of Justine Timberlake in Friends With Benefits, Zac Efron and Channing Tatum as  Magic Mike. Grabe si Channing sa trailer pa lang. Kakainis!

Michael: Adam Levine, James Reid and Joseph Marco.

Marlo: I don’t have a nice body, hahahaha!

Using only body language, how would you make a woman know that you admire her?

Joseph: If I really like someone, I think it would be rude to just use body language. I’ll approach her and talk to her.

Bryan: Eye contact. For me, it’s all in the eyes.

Michael: Flipping my hair then looking at her.

Marlo: By looking at her straight in the eyes.
