Trucks, Mactan stones seized

CEBU, Philippines -  Lapu-Lapu City’s Task Force Kalikasan yesterday seized two trucks loaded with Mactan stones in barangay Babag on suspicion that the goods were illegally extracted.

Juan Pasionela, 22, and Mateo Pasioneal, 28, were arrested for failing to present documents that would show they had authority to transport their cargo.

The drivers said the stones were meant for buyers in Cebu City.

They are now in the custody of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office of Lapu-lapu City and has taken custody of the trucks and the cargo.  (FREEMAN)
