Old "loyalist" of Señor Sto. Niño never fails to come
STO. NIÑO ‘LOYALIST’ ... Every year for the past 50 years, Manding Goria (complete name withheld by The Ear) comes down to the city from her South hometown to pay tribute to the Sto. Niño. “Bisan sa iyang katiguwang na, si Manding, 92, moantus og linya’g inoras aron lang makahawok sa tiilan sa Senyor,” according to a neighbor who accompanies the old woman to the city.
FIVE OR SIX MISSES. It was learned that Manding Goria missed to be part of Fiesta Señor only five or six times in her 50-year devotion to the Holy Child. Illness was the reason. While in the city, Manding Goria would stay most of the time in the Sto. Niño basilica. “Ang akong tuyo sa pag-anhi sa siyudad mao ang Senyor busa dili ko usikan ang akong panahon sa ubang butang,” Manding said.
