A veteran dancer remembers

THE EAR - The Freeman

THOSE WERE THE DAYS. A woman who once performed for a contingent joining the grand parade in the early 90s marveled at how the Sinulog has improved through the years.

"Mga grabe na'g costume, ang mga movement mga abtik na kaayo," said the woman, who is past her forties.

She said when they performed they didn't have much in the way of costumes, they even wore protective gear like kneepads.

Discipline wasn't that enforced in their contingent, by the time they reached the sports center a few of their dancers had already escaped to party.
