Confrontation in the House inquiry

House hearing. Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera yesterday attended the House Committee on Ecology hearing into the controversial importation of 5 million kilos of garbage from South Korea. Another personality who attended the hearing was former councilor now Department of Public Services head Roberto Cabarubias.

Inayawan. An official who attended the hearing told The Ear that the former councilor got a rebuke from the incumbent councilor for supporting the move of Mayor Tomas Osmeña in reopening the Inayawan Sanitary Landfill, despite the order of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB-7) to shut it down due to violations of the environmental compliance certificate (ECC).  This former councilor was actually a pro-environment.
