Kidnap compliment

Martial law tale. People in the Visayas regions didn’t suffer as much as those in the capital during the Martial Law years. However, one retired teacher had a chilling story to tell after meeting a man who served in the PC-INP constabulary at the time.

The man, who was apparently smitten with her after meeting her during a conference, said with the power they had he could have had her kidnapped then and none would be the wiser.

The teacher said she didn’t know whether to feel insulted, scared, or if she should take it as a compliment.
